Meet the Department
Mission Statement
We do the work, keep the wheels turning, and make sure every detail is handled with the kind of care usually reserved for government reorganization and surprise birthday parties. Our team believes in doing things the right way, even if it takes a few extra steps, a color-coded system, and someone saying, “I have already made a spreadsheet for that.” Like the finest public servants in Pawnee, we bring dedication, teamwork, and a slightly alarming level of enthusiasm to everything we do.
Lisa
Founder & Head Groomer
Lisa has been grooming dogs in the greater Pawnee area for 12 years and refuses to accept anything less than a perfect finish. She has color-coded every appointment since 2014, maintains a level of schedule organization normally reserved for city budgets and emergency response plans, and can tell you which poodle needed blueberry-scented shampoo in March of 2019 without looking at a single note. Her clients trust her because she treats every scruffy terrier, anxious lab, and judgmental miniature schnauzer like a beloved public servant: with patience, precision, and just enough firmness to keep everyone on task.
At the salon, Lisa is known for her calm efficiency, her impeccable standards, and her deeply concerning ability to spot a bad haircut from across the room. She believes grooming is equal parts art, discipline, and civic responsibility. Outside of work, she’s the kind of person who owns backup scissors, labeled lint rollers, and a contingency plan for rainy days. In Pawnee, that makes her a local legend.
Jen handles the books, the routes, and the supply chain with terrifying precision. She once optimized our drive schedule and saved 11 minutes per day — a number she still brings up at dinner. She keeps every invoice, receipt, and route map in a system so meticulously organized that even she seems mildly intimidated by it. If something is late, missing, or mislabeled, Jen will find it before anyone else has finished saying, “Has anyone seen the paperwork?”
In the office, she is the quiet force holding everything together: efficient, exacting, and always three steps ahead of a problem that hasn’t happened yet. Her coworkers know that if Jen has touched a spreadsheet, it is now correct. She approaches logistics the way Leslie Knope approaches local government — with total commitment and just enough intensity to make everyone else feel underqualified.

Shaun
Senior Groomer
Shaun doesn’t smile much, but the dogs love him. He has a gift for calming anxious breeds and an encyclopedic knowledge of rare dog coats that he refuses to explain. He speaks rarely, works efficiently, and seems to regard unnecessary chatter the same way Ron Swanson regards flavored yogurt: with deep suspicion. Still, when a nervous dog needs steady hands and a no-nonsense presence, Shaun is the one everyone trusts.
He has a quiet, steady confidence that makes even the most chaotic grooming appointment feel under control. He doesn’t waste words, doesn’t waste time, and definitely doesn’t waste money on anything he considers decorative nonsense. But when it comes to dogs, Shaun has exactly the right amount of patience, skill, and respect. In a town full of noise, he is the calm in the middle of it — and he would prefer if no one made a big deal about that.
